MEMBRANE TECHNOLOGY FOR EFFICIENT BIOGAS UPGRADING

SEPURAN® Green membrane modules are based on Evonik’s pioneering gas separation technology, and tailormade for a range of applications.

Every module consists of a cartridge filled with hollow fibre  membranes, made from Evonik’s proprietary high-performance polymers. Benefiting from Evonik’s expertise in polymer chemistry, the specific properties of these hollow fiber membranes, including selectivity and capacity, are specially engineered to customers’ needs.

The cartridges are contained within a durable, stainless-steel housing.

As many SEPURAN® Green modules as needed can be interconnected to build a system that can be easily scaled up, depending on the size and requirements of the upgrading plant.

SEPURAN® Green G5X modules come in different diameters: 4”, 6” and most recently, the eleven-inch system.

Each SEPURAN® Green module features a state-of-the-art cartridge made in Austria, and a robust, stainless-steel housing made in Germany. All modules  are performance tested and have a service life of more than 10 years.

Depending on the scale and needs of the upgrading system, different modules can be selected for the ideal properties:

  • For upgrading biogas from large operations like landfills, agricultural or wastewater treatment projects, SEPURAN® Green G5X 11” offers the highest capacity of its kind currently on the market.
  • For lower capital expenditures, high throughputs and good selectivity,
    SEPURAN® GREEN R2X modules can be incorporated in three stage processes.
     

Other key specifications:

  • Globally standardized modules that conform to country-specific regulations
    (e.g. PED, ASME, CRN), which allow maximal adaptability when building upgrading plants
  • Operating pressure ranges starting from 1 bara
  • Modules optimized for flow behavior and minimal pressure loss
  • Excellent resistance to hydrogen sulfide: with up to 20% volume for short-term exposure, and up to 3% volume for long-term exposure; tolerance up to 10ppm for VOCs, and up to 20ppm for ammonia
